Features

What can you do with Gtela ?

Currently the Gtela client allows you to:

  • share and download files of any type, including additional information along with the file (properties)
  • use a powerful search function to make finding the right file easier:
    • simple or sophisticated search using wildcards and logical expressions
    • search by any property: name, size, type, keyword, description, etc...
    • the search always covers the full network
  • have the computer's time maintained automatically

More to come: we believe that our technology can be used to create many more cool services!

Comparison with other software:

There are many programs out there for sharing multimedia content; amongst the most well-known: uTorrent, eMule or Azureus (or Vuze like it is now called). The Gtela client is definitely not as 'sexy' and feature-laden as those programs.

So... why would you actually want to use the Gtela client?

  • simplicity: yes, precisely. We suspect that many users have no interest in hundreds of configurable options or a long list of panels reporting cloud status, waiting queues, peers, etc... In Gtela we try to keep the bloat to a minimum.
  • privacy: our network is truly distributed and does not depend on any central server --unlike the tracker websites of torrent clients or the servers of an eMule / eDonkey network. And of course all traffic is encrypted (with the same type of security used for credit card transactions).
  • comprehensive search: when you run a search through the Gtela network, it is not limited to the content of a particular server or group of servers. The full universe of available files is scanned in order to return a complete list of results to you.
